A quarter-century during which our little web radio station has forged its own path, driven by a conviction that has never wavered: to bring electronic music to life and share it in all its forms, with a special place reserved for the world of Jean-Michel Jarre.
But behind this anniversary lies a reality we can no longer ignore: to continue writing its story, Radio Ăquinoxe needs you now more than ever.
25 Years of a Musical and Human Journey
In 2001, the Internet was still very different from what we know today. Connections were often slow, social media didnât exist yet, and listening to the radio online was far from commonplace.
It was in this context that Radio Ăquinoxe was born, with the goal of bringing together fans of Jean-Michel Jarre and electronic music around a media outlet that reflected who they are.
Over the years, our radio station has evolved, navigated technological changes, expanded its programming, and opened its airwaves to numerous artists.
From the music of Jean-Michel Jarre to the compositions of independent artists, from the great classics of electronic music to the latest discoveries, Radio Ăquinoxe has always sought to be a space for sharing, curiosity, and musical freedom.
Our station has also hosted shows, interviews, original productions, and collaborations with passionate musicians.

An independent, community-based radio station driven entirely by passion
Itâs important to remember what makes Radio Ăquinoxe unique.
Radio Ăquinoxe is a nonprofit association governed by the French law of 1901.
We are not a commercial radio station owned by a major media conglomerate. Our goal is not to generate profits, but to share a passion and introduce listeners to music and artists who donât always find a place on major networks.
This independence is our greatest asset. It allows us to preserve our identity, our programming freedom, and our close connection with our listeners.
But it also makes us vulnerable.
Because even online, running a radio station comes at a cost: hosting audio streams, technical infrastructure, the website, broadcasting rights, maintenance, and many other expenses essential to its operation.
And contrary to what one might think, 25 years of existence in no way guarantee the next 25 years.
Today, we truly need your support
We want to take this anniversary as an opportunity to send you a heartfelt message.
Radio Ăquinoxe needs more members to continue operating.
This is not just a stock phrase or a mere symbolic appeal.
Itâs a necessity.
For 25 years, weâve devoted time, energy, and resources to keeping this radio station alive. But passion, however great it may be, isnât enough to cover the expenses needed to keep it running.
Without greater support from our listeners, the future of Radio Ăquinoxe could be at risk.
We know that many of you listen to us, some of you for years now. Some have been with us since the beginning; others have discovered us more recently.
To all of you, we want to say one thing:

This anniversary comes a few months after a major milestone in our history: the launch, in July 2026, of a completely redesigned website.
A history of the songs weâve played, artist profiles, voting for your favorite tracks, voice dedications, song requests, archives, compilations, and exclusive videos: we wanted to restore Radio Ăquinoxe as a true space for discovery and sharing.
This evolution reflects our commitment to continuing to move the station forward, even after a quarter-century of existence.
But for these efforts to have a future, we need to be able to count on a larger and more engaged community of members.
What if we wrote the next 25 years together?
25 years is an exceptional milestone for an independent web radio station.
Itâs also an opportunity to reflect on how far weâve come and to thank everyone who has contributed to this adventure: the volunteers, the hosts, the composers, the artists who have placed their trust in us, our partners, our members, and, of course, our loyal listeners.
Without you, none of this would have been possible.
Weâre proud of these 25 years.
But today, our greatest birthday gift would be neither a cake nor more candles.
It would be seeing new listeners join our organization and give us the means to continue.
Because a radio station like Radio Ăquinoxe deserves to thrive.
Because electronic music deserves independent spaces to express itself.
And because this adventure, which began on October 17, 2001, must not come to an end due to a lack of support.
